Abstract

PENA-FERNANDEZ, Simón. Something more than paper: The cinematic role of the press in Billy Wilder's films. Palabra Clave [online]. 2012, vol.15, n.3, pp.688-710. ISSN 0122-8285.

The media, specifically the press, had an important presence in Billy Wilder's films, not only because of the space he devoted to represent their work on the large screen, but also because of the cinematic and narrative uses he reserved for them in his scripts. This article describes the multiple roles granted to the press by the Viennese producer, from the description of the characters and their impulse to action, up to the filmic narrative.

Keywords : Press; Film Industry; Billy Wilder; Narratives.
