ZARTHA SOSSA, Jhon Wilder et al. Prospective of Agroindustrial Engineering in Ibero-America to 2035: Application of the scenario methodology and the Delphi method. Cienc. Tecnol. Agropecuaria [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.1, e2743.  Epub 30-Abr-2023. ISSN 0122-8706.  https://doi.org/10.21930/rcta.vol24_num1_art:2743.

Agroindustrial engineering is a branch of engineering that studies the integral use of biological resources for food and non-food use, giving them added value through different processes. The objective of this work was to identify key variables, prioritize technologies, innovations, actors, achievable and scenarios for agroindustrial engineering to 2035. Methods and techniques such as Pestal analysis, cross-impact matrices (Micmac), transposed matrices (Mactor), simple probabilities, positive and negative conditional probabilities, mode, modal frequency and consensus percentages were used. Among the most important results, the identification of 295 topics such as the use of clean energies in production, microencapsulation, countercurrent supercritical fluid fractionation, non-thermal UV irradiators, sonication, the prioritization of technologies and innovations, such as artificial intelligence, convolutional networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic techniques with digital images, soil improvement through microorganisms and reduction of contamination by bioprocesses stand out. The participation of 53 experts from Chile, Peru, Mexico, Spain and Colombia, 784 justifications, 200 problems, 71 variables, 21 drivers, 9 actors, 7 future objectives, 64 scenarios and the choice of a betting scenario were found. The use of the results in the consolidation and updating of agroindustrial engineering curricular projects could consider aspects related to nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, genetics, biotechnology and waste utilization, in such a way that the validity of the contents is on a par with converging technologies.

Palavras-chave : agro-industrial engineering; agribusiness; scenarios; delphi method; future studies.
