Ecological resilience reveals the ability of ecosystems to conserve their structural and dynamic characteristics in the face of external instabilities, so their limits are dependent on the specific conditions and the regaining velocity. In the present work, the ecological resilience of the Las Peonías lagoon (Zulia, Venezuela) was estimated between 2011 and 2019, through an integrated analysis GIS-LiDAR (Geographic Information System ‒ Light Detection and Ranging), with the aim of determining its capacity to absorb the impacts of anthropic activities and guide future environmental management in this water body. Thus, the anthropic activity zones and the indicators of land transformation, anthropic impacts, and those derived from the transformation were estimated. The results showed an ecological resilience index between < 0.01 (2013) and 0.08 (2011) and a coastal regeneration degree between 0.46 (2013) and 75.37 (2011); indicating that the lagoon is in a constant regenerative process, with a very small capacity to counteract continuous anthropic impacts without suffering disturbances in its ecosystem balance. This refers to a condition of high environmental risk due to the development of an active and advanced eutrophication process.
