Through an ecumenical notion such as "multiculturalism", where different policies concerning different issues have been brought together, the recent Latin American experience is avant-garde in at least two aspects. On the one hand, in response to the need to go beyond the classic Nation-State foundation, Latin American States are attempting, in the name of greater equity and equality, multicultural, multi-ethnic and plurinational "gnosis" of the State. These perspectives are no less dizzying because they are entangled in an "unfinished decoloniality". On the other hand, it is in a (^conceptualisation of universalism that the intense South American creativity offers new perspectives on the universal potential of rights and the revitalisation of the inseparable links between the politics of recognition and social justice ...
