Abstract

MEDINA-GIACOMOZZI, Alex  and  GALLEGOS-MUNOZ, Cecilia. Educating Management Professionals in Latin America: A Comparative Study. educ.educ. [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.2, pp.253-271. ISSN 0123-1294.

Professional management training programs are offered by a great many universities in Latin America. Because the extent to which they coincide is unclear, this article offers a comparative analysis for a more holistic view of such programs at the Latin American level. The method implied a review and analysis of each program, taking into account its name, duration, type of certificate and intermediate output. The most significant results point to low coverage and considerable disparity in the titles of degrees or certificates, in the emphasis on training and its duration.

Keywords : Higher education; management sciences; quality of education; comparative education; Latin America.
