Abstract
RODRIGUEZ-MOLINA, Guillermo. Educational research: the functions and features of leadership in school teaching. educ.educ. [online]. 2011, vol.14, n.2, pp.253-267. ISSN 0123-1294.
The problem posed in this study is knowing who the leaders are in education, the procedures they use for monitoring or oversight, and the instances for feedback and self-evaluation. Specifically, the objective is to describe and analyze the procedures and instances for feedback and self-evaluation used in curriculum supervision. A descriptive, qualitative approach is employed to that end, and the principal findings show a clear difference between administrative and educational leaders. The latter are valued positively by the teaching team, are able to encourage and promote systems for guidance and feedback, and generate instances and tools for joint oversight of teaching practices that have a long-term impact on teacher evaluation processes.
