Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the affective dimension as part of environmental awareness, meaning favorable values ​​and beliefs about care and respect for the environment. The study has a descriptive, non-experimental design and employs a self-administered questionnaire. The sample includes 531 participants, 20 % of the studied population (N = 2051) made up of the students from the School of Education Sciences of the Universidad de Córdoba, Spain. A significant level of environmental awareness (interest in the current state of the environment) was found. The trend towards environmental farsightedness was confirmed. In conclusion, it is necessary to think about global problems in its everyday nature, lowering their levels of abstraction, and fundamentally from our emotional bond with the environment.
