BELALCAZAR GRANDA, Adriana Fernanda. Magical Routes: Oral Tradition and steam Experiences in Early Childhood**. Educ. Educ. [online]. 2024, vol.27, n.2, e2724. Epub 29-Jul-2025. ISSN 0123-1294. https://doi.org/10.5294/edu.2024.27.2.4.
"Magical Routes: Living Stories at the Base of Galeras" is a transmedia project designed to introduce young children to the oral traditions of the communities that live on the slopes of the Galeras volcano and have lived with it for generations. This innovative educational initiative aims to safeguard the region's stories and collective imagination while encouraging playful learning, a connection with nature, and gender equity. Using a qualitative and ethnographic methodology, oral stories were collected in artistic expression workshops, minga de saberes (knowledge-sharing gatherings), and thepractices of tulpa - a sacred and familial gathering space-within households that decided to voluntarily joined the project. Subsequently, the information was analyzed and triangulated using NVivo software. The data was later analyzed and triangulated using NVivo software. Key findings highlight the close relationship between local residents and their natural surroundings, along with rich cultural expressions, myths, legends, and a positive response to the science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM+) activities developed throughout the study. The findings of this ethnography constitute the inputs for the subsequent construction of a transmedia narrative focused on the conservation of the tradition and culture of the region.
