Abstract
LEON-PAIME, Edison Fredy. Accounting education in the English-speaking context: An insight into the years of community building. Cuad. Contab. [online]. 2009, vol.10, n.27, pp.219-245. ISSN 0123-1472.
Research on Accounting education has been on the rise lately. The existing, huge number of research works dealing with a broad range of topics makes it hard to perceive its actual size as a field of knowledge. This work presents data from an analysis whose goal was to report the most significant approaches and research lines of academic production in the field of Accounting education in the English-speaking context in the stage of academic community building. In order to attain this, a historical analysis was carried out based on three areas: 1) Works by Accounting Review, 2) Analysis by Critical Perspectives on Accounting, and 3) Works found on electronic databases, whose role is paramount in the understanding of this phenomenon in the aforementioned context. This review, which is part of the research named Historiografía de la educación contable en Colombia, is complementary to the Works by Barbara Apostolou, Stephanie Watson, John M. Hassell and Sally A. Webber (2001, 2003, 2007).
