Abstract

In the process of convergence to international standards of information assurance, different situations that threaten their success may arise. It is important to know the experiences of other countries to try not to make the same mistakes, although the typical drawbacks of the process could occur, as professionals resistance to change, cultural barriers, type of business, specially small and medium familiar enterprises, the inertia of the professionals and the inadequate plans, among others. This paper aims to investigate such cases to identify whether in the current process being conducted by Colombia the events mentioned are taking place. This allows reflecting and looking for possible improvement actions that could help to face this process in a better way.
