Abstract

SANTOS MURGAS, Alonso  and  ANINO RAMOS, Yostin Jesús. Acrophasmus sp. PARASITOID (HYMENOPTERA: BRACONIDAE: DORYCTINAE) ATTACKING Tetrapriocera longicornis (OLIVER) (COLEOPTERA: BOSTRICHIDAE: BOSTRICHINAE) IN THE FOREST RESERVE EL MONTUOSO, PROVINCE OF HERRERA, PANAMA. Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.179-187. ISSN 0123-3068.  https://doi.org/10.17151/bccm.2017.21.1.15.

Observations of parasitism of Tetrapriocera longicornis (Oliver, 1795) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae: Bostrichinae) by Acrophasmus sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Doryctinae) are described. This is the first record of a species of the Acrophasmus genera parasitizing woodboring T. longicornis. Interesting facts about the biology and ecology of these two species of insects are also given, as well as the relationship between T. longicornis and its host plant in Panama.

Keywords : parasitoid; host; woodborers; Forest Reserve El Montuoso.
