Abstract
RUIZ-DOMINGUEZ, Catalina and CABRERA-RODRIGUEZ, Isidoro. HISTORICAL FLORISTIC COLLECTIONS CARRIED OUT IN THE COLOMBIAN AMAZON AND ORINOCO REGIONS. Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2019, vol.23, n.2, pp.15-41. ISSN 0123-3068. https://doi.org/10.17151/bccm.2019.23.2.1.
Objective:
To contribute to the inventory of biodiversity in Colombia, the scientific community is introduced to records of plant species present in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá and Vichada. Scope: List of floristic collections.
Methodology:
The list of floristic collections of the botanist Isidoro Cabrera-Rodríguez, which started from the systematic organization of the collections existing in the CUVC herbarium at Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia), was compiled by reviewing specimens deposited in said herbarium, consultation of national and international data bases, and a review of available literature.
Results:
The records corresponding to the Colombian Amazon and Orinoquia regions, which include 456 species grouped in 99 families of vascular plants, are presented.
Conclusions:
The records of the species presented in this document are of historical importance since many of the areas included do not have vegetation currently and others are under pressure due to factors such as indiscriminate tree felling or expansion of the agricultural barrier.
