Abstract

The article reflects on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in various fields of knowledge, with an emphasis on health. The idea, in this respect, is to become acquainted with the advances and limitations that exist in the Latin American context. A documentary review is carried out based on the opinions of recognized authors, and aspects related to the specifics of ICT are developed, with several fields of application being mentioned. The article then reflects on the application of these specifics in the health sector. The ethical considerations that arise with the use of ICT in different areas of knowledge are analyzed as well.
