Abstract

Objective:

To analyze the trends in bioethical and intercultural training in nursing programs and to determine which aspects must be considered in order to improve education.

Materials and method:

Search for information in freely accessible scientific databases and university repositories of doctoral theses; the keywords “bioethics,” “education,” “training,” “nursing,” and “culture” in Spanish and English were used. No limits were established as to publication date.

Results:

Most research focuses on the academic curriculum; there is little information on interculturality, but the subject of transculturality is addressed.

Conclusion:

It is necessary to make ethics and bioethics a transversal theme in the academic curricula, in addition to including interculturality.
