Abstract

ESCOBAR OCAMPO, Lina María; MONTOYA ARENAS, Catalina; PATINO ZULUAGA, Evelyn  and  GONZALEZ ESCOBAR, Luis Fernando. THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE SANTA FE DE ANTIOQUIA LANDSCAPE: RECONFIGURATION OF THE HISTORIC CENTER AND ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. Perspectiva Geográfica [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.1, pp.71-88. ISSN 0123-3769.  https://doi.org/10.19053/01233769.7087.

The changes and recent transformations of the landscape of the historic center and urban edges in Santa Fe de Antioquia have been accelerated processes that leave deterioration and loss of the natural and cultural heritage that provides identity to the place. These effects are produced, among other factors, by the incidence of tourism and patrimonial marketing that reconfigures the socio-spatial fabric and the natural environment. Through the delimitation and analysis of landscape units in the so-called "Everyday landscape" and the characterization of the "Natural landscape", it was possible to establish the close relationship between the loss of vegetation cover, land use and the subdivision of the land as indicators of changes in the model of occupation, identifying environmental and anthropic impacts in the Tropical Dry Forest and the incidence that cultural changes are currently imprinting on the dialogical relationship between the historical center and its natural environment. The relevance of this reflection is framed in the interpretation of the recent historical dynamics in simultaneous with qualitative and quantitative information, for the analysis of the landscape as patrimonial resource in a more balanced territorial planning, which includes the revision of landscape transversalities.

Keywords : landscape; cultural landscape; globalization processes; landscape transformation.
