RODRIGUEZ MENDEZ, Diego Felipe. The personal is spatial: toward spatialized comprehensive sexuality education. Perspectiva Geográfica [online]. 2025, vol.30, n.1, 18118. Epub 28-Abr-2025. ISSN 0123-3769. https://doi.org/10.19053/uptc.01233769.18118.
This article reflects on the results of a thesis that aims to design an educational proposal that connects spatiality and comprehensive sexuality education. This work was conducted with adolescents at a private school in Bogotá, drawing on the shortcomings left by traditional, dichotomous, and deterministic geographic education, which denies gender and sexuality as spatial qualities. The methodology used is based on educational action research, which constructs reflections based on exercises such as collective cartography, body mapping, sketches and techniques such as field diaries and focus groups. The results demonstrate possibilities and realities for the classroom, in dialogue with intimate geographies, concluding with the personal as something spatial and a spatialized comprehensive sexual education that understands the body as a producer of geographical knowledge. This work reflects a spatial education in Colombia that dialogues with feminist geographies and sexuality to consider other spatialities within a differential, multidimensional, and territorial framework.
