QUICENO, Japcy Margarita e VINACCIA ALPI, Stefano. Resilience and sociodemographic characteristics in the chronic ill. Psicol. caribe [online]. 2012, vol.29, n.1, pp.87-104. ISSN 0123-417X.
The purpose of this study was to identify differences and resilience relationship in terms of sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, and to analyze the weight of these on resilience in 121 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and chronic renal failure of the city of Medellin, Colombia. The resilience scale RS and short scale resilience CD-RISC2 was used to measure. No statistically signicant differences in resilience in function to sociodemographic characteristics were found. The multiple linear regression analysis showed that the diagnosis time had a negative weight on resilience. In conclusion, the clinical characteristics are more relevant on resilience than the demographic ones when people are older and diagnosed with chronic disease.
