Abstract

This articule presents the results of a nonexperimental correlational study, which objective was to determine the relationship between pathological personality patterns and state-trait anxiety in a group of 120 psychology students at a university in Colombia, with ages between 18 and 40 years and schooling levels between first and tenth semester. The instruments used were the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory III and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Spearman correlation coefficient was calculated, indicating a positive correlation between the presence of aggressive personality patterns (sadistic), borderline and dysthymic, and high scores on trait anxiety.
