The aim of this study was to establish a profile of the scientific research, during the years 2000 to 2013 in Brazil, on domestic violence against women and the coping strategies they evolve. Our research covered the following databases: Lilacs, SciELO, PePSIC, BVS. We applied the keywords: domestic violence, woman, coping, tools, Gender violence and violence against woman. In total our research analysed 69 studies according to the following categories: article title, nature of work, source of publication, authorship, institutional affiliation of the authors, language, addressed readership, year of publication, keyword. The results indicate that the scientific research emphasizes on the work of nursing, psychology, and public health, demonstrating a concern for health professionals, serving the demands of the woman in different attention centers.
