Resumen

QUIJANO BLANCO, Yobany. IMPACT OF THE USE OF VIRTUAL LEARNING AS MEDIATION FOR TEACHING NEUROANATOMY TO MEDICINE STUDENTS. rev.udcaactual.divulg.cient. [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.2, pp.15-22. ISSN 0123-4226.

The teaching of neuroanatomy, because of its complexity and length represents a constant challenge for teachers and students, which has promoted the creation of new pedagogical strategies in order to facilitate its learning. In this study, we selected two groups: one (study) comprising 37 students and the other one (control) of 29 students. The control group was trained following the traditional methodology of teaching, six weekly hours consisting of lectures and four hours of practice in the amphitheater. The study group was trained using blearning, consisting of six weekly hours of lectures, two hours of practice in the amphitheater and two hours of virtual pedagogical strategy, concept maps, study guides and computer images of neuroanatomy, mounted in the U.D.C.A moodle platform with interactive tutorials, animations, physical, procedural, and use of the virtual forum chat. The results were obtained taking into account four basic aspects: demographic, academic, theoretical assessment and a survey of satisfaction conducted among students, finding that the students of the study group had a better academic performance than the control group, with a statistically significance (p < 0.05).
