Abstract The new vision of family law in connection with a progressive opening of the private autonomy in family relationships of our time, shows the contrast of the institution of marriage with the schemes of the time of the Civil Code. This change of model responding to the social dynamics is the subject of analysis in this paper, trying to provide an overview for displaying the impact of law 26.618 about civil marriage on Argentine law.
