This paper proposes a brief analysis of the 'causa' as a condition of validity of the contract, the mistake of law and the strict liability under the jurisprudential movement of the Colombian Supreme Court between 1936 and 1940, commonly known as the period of the "Corte de Oro". The aim of this article is to verify the creative work by judge-made law in our country, the change in the interpretation of certain provisions of the Colombian Civil Code and the fate of these changes today.
