The aim of this study is to question the functions performed by the current Department of Children and Adolescents of the Ombudsman of Paraguay and to highlight the need to create a new autonomous institution for the defense of the human rights of children. In this context, it will conclude with the recommendations considered essential so that figure has real functions to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents in Paraguay.
