This article aims to assess the securities notion from a comparative law point of view. It proposes an assessment over the U. S. securities regulation, as well as an evaluation of such regulation within the Colombian rules. With that aim, the article seeks to identify the possible lessons to learn from the foreign securities regulations, specifically, within the Colombian securities market regulation.
