Based on treatises of notarial literature from that time, this research's purpose is to analyze two types of notarial documents, the liabilities and the settlements, closely related to each other, during the first half of the XVIth century, ages of Carlos i's reign. Diplomatic analysis will join the historical review of legal records of each model and the comparative between what they contribute and the different forms and treaties. The documentary corpus -from wich the analysed documents have been picked out- belongs to the protocols section from the Archivo Histórico Provincial de Málaga, part of the Crown of Castile in 1487, whose public notaries folded from the beginning to the consolidated notarial practice since the XIIIth century in the Hispanic lot.
