The present study aims to analyze the so-called principle of progressive autonomy which reception in the Argentine legal system responds to the process of constitutionalizing and conventionalizing the Private Law. It specifically addresses the role currently recognized for children and adolescents in parental relationships. Guided by the trialist methodology, this study concludes with a counterpoint that seeks to highlight both similarities and differences regarding applicable regulations in Argentine and Spanish law, hand in hand with judicial precedents in both countries.
