Abstract

The main purpose of the current article is to propose a discourse approach in the Social Sciences knowledge construction. Supporting this proposal there is a general review of the several approaches Linguistics has offered about language, and a brief, but precise, description of the principal aims of discourse. Finally, this text presents some considerations about the possibilities the discourse analysis gives to the development of Social Sciences.
