This paper shows the categorization and description of some aspects of verb lexicalization in Colombian Spanish. Aside from its linguistic interest, this phenomenon is crucial for lexicography, since these changes are not confined to the evolution of a structure from the phonological, the semantic or the grammar perspectives, but they emerge in the speakers' usage of their own language. This supposes, for a lexicographer, the need to record those changes. Finally, it is important to point out that, rather than a diachronic study of the lexicalization process analyzed, this is a study of how such lexicalization can be assessed and taken into account for an appropriate lexicographical management.
