Abstract

GARCIA-DUSSAN, Éder. Epistemology of Literature and Literary Education in the Colombian School Context. Folios [online]. 2021, n.53, pp.75-89.  Epub Nov 16, 2021. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.53-10374.

In this reflective paper, we propose to outline the fundamental elements of an epistemology of literature that allows to knot both a conceptual and a methodological posture, regarding literary education in the Colombian university. To achieve this, we turn to a weak essential definition of literature and a method that combines premises of discourse analysis and literary semiotics. This allows us to construct criteria for reading works and creating aesthetic texts as essential processes in the context of literary education. The result of this proposal makes it possible to expose and describe minimum pedagogical keys, whose place is the concept of literary competence that grants to the educator the capacity of fruition, critical reflection, inferential work, and creativity.

Keywords : Epistemology of literature; literary; discourse analysis; semiotics; literary education; literary competence.
