Abstract

LAMPREA-ABRIL, Nathalia. A history to teach? Attempt at Deconstruction and Reconstruction of the History of Francophonie. Folios [online]. 2022, n.56, pp.65-80.  Epub Nov 10, 2022. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.56-13527.

The notion of francophonie continues to be the subject of numerous debates, questions and discussions in various fields: geopolitics, sociolinguistics, literature, language teaching, among others. These multiple perspectives pose problems when it comes to teaching its history in areas such as languages and cultures teaching or international studies. In this reflective article, we propose to return to the subject of francophonie with an exercise of deconstruction and critical reconstruction of its institutional history using texts, speeches and official documents. This approach allows us to consider not only its complexity because of its ideological, political and economic links connected to the configuration of an institution, but also its discursive turns which intermingle various realities and positions. To do this, we adopt a genealogical approach and use the category of dispositive (Foucault, 1994; Deleuze, 1989), tools that will help us (de)(re)construct the configuration of common senses concerning the history of the francophonie, and then, to aim at its teaching from an informed and critical perspective.

Keywords : francophonie; history; apparatus/dispositive; discourses; institution.
