CABEZA-MORALES, Israel. Territorial Convergence: Between Cohesion and Balance. []. , 57, pp.177-189.   02--2023. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.57-14894.

The concept of territorial convergence is proposed as an expression of the degree of balance achieved that allows accounting for the cohesion in the territories. Three moments are developed, in the first one, an analysis of the concepts is made through a state of art that allows us to understand their evolution, both within and outside the field of geography. In the second, a theoretical and conceptual framework is built in which the concept of territory in geographical science is taken as a starting point, from its correspondence with some approaches to the discipline, subsequently, the related concepts and the different meanings are addressed. They can be assumed around each one of them from a geographical perspective, taking as its axis the theory of complex systems applied to the territory, for which the category of the territorial system is adopted and developed. Finally, it is explained how the relationship between the concepts contributes to geographic science, highlighting the relevance of territorial convergences to account for the structure and dynamics of a territory or territorial system.

: Territorial cohesio; territorial convergence; territorial imbalance; territorial balance; territorial system.
