Abstract

GUIDO-GUEVARA, Sandra  and  SOLER-MARTIN, Carolina. Inequalities and Injustices: Reproductions and Resistances in Education. Folios [online]. 2023, n.57, pp.219-235.  Epub June 02, 2023. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.57-16794.

The present article of reflection was elaborated on dialogues between two research groups regarding some recent inquiries that coincide in the relevance of making visible injustices and inequalities in educational environments derived from social constructions about human differences and, also, agree with the recognition of praxis that resists and motive turns and transformations in their micro-contexts as they work for a less unjust education and world. The article is made up of four moments, the first approaches to the notions of inequalities and social injustices; the second, a view from the air based on studies that provide a macrosocial panorama of factors and data that lead to understanding inequalities and injustices in education from the gaps between population sectors, as ordering categories, the 4 proposals were used for monitoring the fulfillment of the right to education. The third moment presents a view from the ground or field studies of educational praxis carried out with a socio-critical perspective and "Epistemologies of the South" that unravel realities of inequalities and injustices understood from the categories of colonialism, patriarchalism, and capitalism. Finally, some educational praxis that individual or collective subjects gestate in their educational settings and that seek to resist asymmetric relationships, exclusions, and violence that lead to injustice are analyzed.

Keywords : Inequalities; social injustices; right to education.
