Abstract

COUTO-CANTERO, Pilar. The Textual-Transpodidactic Model for Learning Languages and Cultures. "Yuche and the Ticunas". Folios [online]. 2023, n.58, pp.95-110.  Epub Jan 27, 2024. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.58-16049.

The elaboration of this article is framed within the field of teaching and learning languages and cultures in educational contexts, from a global and integrative perspective. The main objective of this study is to demonstrate that the theoretical-practical model of textual-transpodidactics is effective to develop competences in linguistic communication in an innovative way, which constitutes the main and original contribution of this article. For this, a contextualized empirical proposal has been designed in a specific geographical area and educational level (5th year of Basic Formal Education, in Colombia), establishing as a methodological framework the action-research in the classrooms. Likewise, four basic pillars are considered: education, language, literature and culture; taking as a common thread, a traditional Colombian tale of oral literature: "Yuche y los ticunas". The complete example is provided in accordance with the four phases of the aforementioned model. Results show that this model is valid because it contributes to facilitating meaningful, contextualized, and innovative learning. In addition, creative writing, cooperative learning, and cognitive development are encouraged. As it is a relatively new model, there is not much room for discussion, but references and reflections are offered to confirm its validity.

Keywords : textual-transpodidactics; action-research; education; language; literature; culture; ticunas.
