Abstract

This article presents the case study of a Colombian conglomerate called "Grupo Inversiones Mundial"(GIM), with its main business Pintuco, core of the industrial activity on the Chemical Sector. It shows the process of internationalization and the strategy implemented when doing direct investments by the acquisition of entrepreneurial groups or companies related with the Paint Sector in the Andean market. The main target of the direct investments made has been Venezuela , Ecuador and Panama . Furthermore, it is planning to expand its operations in the future with direct investment towards Peru , Bolivia and Central America .
