Abstract

VIVAS-LOPEZ, SALVADOR  and  FERNANDEZ-GUERRERO, RAFAEL. Competency-based management at healthcare institutions: key factors to human resource management in the Community of Valencia (Spain). estud.gerenc. [online]. 2011, vol.27, n.120, pp.41-62. ISSN 0123-5923.

This work is aimed at analyzing the key factors to personnel management at complex organizations, such as healthcare institutions, which provide public services. To this end, it employs one of the newest developments in the field of human resource management as a theoretical framework, namely, competency-based management. It is also intended to shed light on the application of these personnel management proposals to organizations in the healthcare system in Valencia. It used a research methodology based on an in-depth review of various cases of both public and private hospitals in the community of Valencia, Spain, in order to create new theoretical constructs in this field
