FIERRO MORENO, ERENDIRA and MERCADO SALGADO, PATRICIA. Organizational innovation and knowledge management in public hospitals in the State of Mexico (2011). estud.gerenc. [online]. 2012, vol.28, n.spe, pp.109-123. ISSN 0123-5923.
Estudos anteriores constatam que a gestão do conhecimento está relacionada com a inovação, Although previous studies have verified that knowledge management is related to innovation, little consideration has been given to organizational innovation which is one of the kinds of innovation within organizations. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between organizational innovation and knowledge management in public hospitals. To this end, a 55-item questionnaire was administered to 158 middle-management officials and directors at seven different hospitals using a Likert scale. A hypothesis was formulated of the correlation between both variables. The findings show that there is a correlation between organizational innovation and the dissemination, creation, organization, and application of knowledge, acknowledging that at least one of these factors is responsible for organizational innovation, but there is scant variability.
