Abstract

This study case analyzes the informal entrepreneurship as a challenge for public policy. 20 in-depth interviews were conducted to micro and informal entrepreneurs in La Paz and El Alto cities, Bolivia in 2010, and 3 officials of institutions to support business development in the country. The main reflection was that informal entrepreneurs have a high level of influence in the effectiveness of public policies implemented to its sector and the mechanisms that have been used in Bolivia for their inclusion in the process.
