Abstract

LOMBANA, Jahir; CABEZA, Leonor; CASTRILLON, Jaime  and  ZAPATA, Álvaro. Training in managerial competencies. A review from the philosophical foundations of administration. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2014, vol.30, n.132, pp.301-313. ISSN 0123-5923.

The purpose of this research is to classify managerial competencies (generic and specific) according to the perspective of philosophical foundations of Renée Bedard and identify its importance and development in each of the foundations: ontological, axiological, epistemological, and praxeological. The research uses an inductive method supported by statistical inference, based on the results for teachers and employers in the work by ASCOLFA-GRIICA (replicated in Colombia from the Tuning-Latin-America Project). In conclusion, the formation processes of managers in Colombia highlight epistemological and praxeological competencies, mainly specific ones. Furthermore, the generic ontological and epistemological are poorly developed. These results should help in the construction of curriculum, selection processes and performance appraisals.
