Abstract

GRATEROL-LOPEZ, Hortencia  and  SIGALA-PAPARELLA, Luis Eduardo. Accelerated internationalization firms: Case studies in Venezuela. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2014, vol.30, n.133, pp.461-468. ISSN 0123-5923.

This paper studies the accelerated internationalization of Venezuelan firms, known as International New Ventures, in order to describe their features and capabilities, and then classify them and evaluate the qualities of their founders. As research methodology a 6 cases studies of production and service firms was conducted. As a conclusion, the International New Ventures from Venezuela exhibit similar features to those reported in the literature, but a distinctive aspect is that they seek anonymity and go unnoticed as much as possible. The complexity and uncertainty of the environment of the country, due to the changing rules of the government, and the great amount of trade regulations are good reasons for this behavior.

Keywords : Internationalization; Born global; Study cases; Venezuela.
