Abstract

BEDOYA DORADO, Cristian  and  GARCIA SOLARTE, Mónica. The effect of fear on workers and the organization. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2016, vol.32, n.138, pp.60-70. ISSN 0123-5923.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.estger.2015.10.002.

Drawing on Deming's proposals for eliminating fear from the workplace, several investigations have found this emotion to be negative for workers and organizations. This article aims to identify the negative effects that fear generates among workers and organizations. To do this, a literature review of studies of fear in organizations and its implications for work was carried out. The effects of fear were classified into worker and organization and their implications were discussed, from which it was found that identifying the effects of fear in the organization contributes to the understanding of the role that subjectivity plays in organizational behavior and operation.
