This article presents an exposition of the literature contained in special issues published in journals included in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) between 2011-2013, in order to provide a current view of the literature on entrepreneurship through a systematic review that includes 3 parts: Data collection, analysis, and synthesis of data. Specifically, the sample analyzed consists of 387 articles from 49 special issues in 23 journals. The characteristics of the journals and the diverse topics currently addressed in entrepreneurship are presented. Also, 10 main lines of research are identified, indicating their type, methodologies and geographical considerations, along with an overview of their main themes. This allows the researcher to reflect on the current situation and the research opportunities for contributing to the development of this field.
