ALONSO, Julio César; ESTRADA, Daniela e MUECES, Brigitte Vanessa. English proficiency level in Colombian undergraduate business administration programs: the goal is far away. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2018, vol.34, n.149, pp.445-456. ISSN 0123-5923. https://doi.org/10.18046/j.estger.2018.149.2881.
This paper analyzes whether potential graduates of Business Administration programs, under each type of modality (classroom training, distance and virtual) met the goal of bilingualism proposed by the Colombian Government for 2014. For this purpose, a descriptive and statistical approach is used (parametric and non-parametric tests) to analyze the results of the English module of Saber Pro test (2011-2017). It is found that only 11 out of 198 on-site (face-to-face) programs met the goal in 2014, while only 9 of the 41 accredited on-site programs met the goal. These results highlight the need for the Government to review the scope of public policy on bilingualism.
