This review aimed to identify the theories that best explain organizational resilience through the analysis of the literature. For this, a final sample of 40 empirical-causal articles from Web of Science platform was compiled. In these articles, resilience is a relevant variable and was analyzed using its theories and variables. The results show a concentration of studies at the individual and organizational levels in which issues such as resources and capabilities, organizational structures, and cognitive elements prevail. It was determined that the most used precept is the resource-based vision, whose association with resilience is described. The results obtained have practical implications for the management of organizations by highlighting the relevance of tangible and intangible strategic resources.
