Abstract
VIZCARRA, Héctor Fernando. THE ISIDRO PARODI SERIES: PARODY AND RE-INTERPRETATION OF CLASSIC DETECTIVE FICTION. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2012, vol.14, n.2, pp.13-29. ISSN 0123-5931.
In this paper, based on the theoretical tools provided by Comparative Literature, the author analyzes how playful parody functions in the narrative frames of Six Problems for don Isidro Parodi, by Jorge Luis Borges and Adolfo Bioy Casares. Taking as a reference the structures of classical detective fiction, particularly those of G. K. Chesterton's "Father Brown series", this essay shows how productive reception in the Latin-American hypertext is able to modify the implications of a particular motif in crime fiction: "the purloined letter".
