Abstract

CUESTA, Carolina. THE TEACHING OF LITERATURE AND THE ORDERS OF LIFE: READING, EXPERIENCE AND SUBJECTIVITY. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2013, vol.15, n.2, pp.97-119. ISSN 0123-5931.

This article will address its topic, the teaching of literature, from a social and cultural perspective. This decision implies a search for conceptualizations on reading and literature in their relations with other concepts, such as experience and subjectivity. It becomes necessary to redefine what we understand by these categories in research on the teaching of literature, especially when literary texts are approached from the standpoint of parallels which the students establish with other discursivities, on the basis of their beliefs about literature: what they consider real or unreal, true or false, concerning literary texts and their fictions.

Keywords : education of literature; reading; experience; subjectivity.
