Abstract
SCHMIDT CAPELA, Carlos Eduardo. DERIVAS INTEGRAISINTEGRAL DERIVATIVES. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.1, pp.81-105. ISSN 0123-5931. https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.v16n1.44327.
The study focuses on one of Samuel Rawet's novels, Travels of Ahasverus..., in which the protagonist experiences the impossibility of death as the condemnation to an absolutely radical exile. Benjamin's concept of mark is linked to Ahasverus' power of metamorphosis, thus allowing both the character and the novel to transgress the idea of linear, homogeneous time. To this must be added Ahasverus' ability to assume the perspectives of the most diverse names that form part of human history. The article then analyzes a particularly enigmatic passage of the narrative, on the basis of the Leibnizian notions of derivative and integral and of Deleuze's notion of diagram.
Keywords : Samuel Rawet; Travels of Ahasverus...; proper name; metamorphosis; mark; diagram.
