This article sustain that Borges, in "La Noche de los Dones", postulates a narrative theory of the process of knowledge. To clarify this issue, it first explains the epistemological process narrative theory. Then, it sustains that, despite the fact that this theory is formulated according to the theory of the Ideas of Plato, Borges relocates the materials of Greek denomination to a Gaucho narration, displaying crucial anti-platonic features. This allows Borges to consider the very act of narrating as the center of the question which seeks the origin of human knowledge.
