This article reflects on the trajectory of the Crack movement in the twenty years since the publication of its manifesto, which proposed a return to the writing of demanding novels. The first thing we note is that this is about a literary friendship resulting in prolific literature and which has been enshrined in a series of critical and fictional dialogues among its authors. We will also study the common traits of its poetics, including the recurrence of various themes and formal risks. The objective is, therefore, to understand as a whole the trajectory of a group of writers that has broken ground in Mexican literature. In this way, we propose Crack as a starting point for the study of a varied and multitudinous movement that exists in current Mexican narrative.
