Abstract

MARTINEZ ZUCCARDI, Soledad. Poetry, Province, Nation. Regarding an Argentinian Poetry Anthology of 1965. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.1, pp.139-160. ISSN 0123-5931.  https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.vl9n1.60777.

The article examines a significant anthology of Tucumán poetry published in 1965 in light of two question arising from the analysis of the paratexts of the book: 1) the level of institutionalization attained by the field of literature and the local literary criticism of the time (perceptible from certain features of the extensive introduction of the anthology, a critical study that proposes a history of Tucumán poetry), and 2) the claim against the design of an integral poetic map of the country (shown on the inside flap of the volume), a problem linked to the visibility of the provinces of the so-called Argentinian "interior" around 1960. Such issues are intended, at the same time, as the conditions for the possible emergence of this anthology in Tucumán.

Keywords : Poetry anthologies; Argentinian poetry of the twentieth century; province; nation; local literary fields; history of Argentinian literary criticism.
