Abstract

Through the concept of urban imaginaries, the influence that the defunct Magazine Estadio left in the wanderino imaginary of Valparaiso is explored. In order to do this the relationship between urban imaginaries and football, the Estadio hegemonic position in his time of publication, and as-pects linked to the founding era of Santiago Wanderers, symbol of Valparaiso are reviewed. Then this article pretends to analyze the construction of the style of play and the figure of the idol, both represented through the work of Estadio. These representations give character, are updated and persist until our time in the wanderino imaginary of Valparaiso.
